Lets Bring The Great Outdoors IN......

You dont need to spend a ton of money to get that comfortable look and feel of the lodge decor or as they say the "Adirondack Look". These are just some simple ideas I have come up with that just may help you out some.

1. Start outdoors! If you are lucky enough to live in an area like I do "Beautiful Lake Tahoe" or any other mountain range! take a look outside of your front door. The great outdors offers many things that you can bring in the house. Lets start with the simple pine cone's... Nine times out of ten you can see hundreds if not thousands of these things on the ground. Next time you are out on your hike pick some of these up! A lot of poeple up in Lake Tahoe take these in the home. They spray them with a cinnamon oil mixed with some water, till the cone is damp, Then seal them in a zip lock bag for about for 24-36 hours. Once opened you have a very fregrant pine cone that will fill the entire house and will remind you of the great outdoors! Place them in bowl, make a wreath with them. The scent will last for a few days! Make a few extra and place them in your fireplace for a scented fire! The possibilities are endless with the great pine cone.

2. A simple light switch/Cover plate. We make a lot of these items. Easy to install and will bring the great outdoors into your home or cabin. These are perfect for any den or to place in the kitchen! a real natural and soft entrance of out doors in your home. Place one, two, or put them around your entire house. Most peolpe forget about the light coverings! We all have seen houses or lodges decorated to the hilt! but for some reason the eye catches that white switch cover plate. Prices for these items will range from $15.00 all the way to $25.00 in some rustic stores. We pretty much stay around the $15.00 dollar range with this item! of course this is for a single purchase, however the great thing about Tahoe Pine Works is that we will change the prices if on any bulk purchase for these items.



3. The simple coffee table. Rustic coffee tables will hold everything from food to books and even feet. Rustic tables are perfect for this, as they bring a warm feel to the room. When adding your table, You want to picture a it in a cozy room, maybe infront of a fireplace! The tables we hand make offer many designs and we give you your own choice of wood for the top at no extra charge (Oak, Pine, Maple,Cherry, and Walnut)

However sometimes these rustic tables can be pricey, I think you will find these prices pretty low! Most rustic stores offer these items around $350.00 to $450.00 Our price stays at $250.00 to $300.00 and lets not forget the options we offer with these tables. How I would decorate these tables! I would keep it pretty simple (I think less is more) maybe a little table runner, nice candle set (we see some great candle sets hear) and maybe a few magizines (like LL bean)

4. Lighting
These lights will really bring in the rustic look. Perfect for any end table or soffa table in your home. The soft glow (I would use a nice soft 60 watt bulb) to light up things in the corner or things you have on the table is great, Maybe place a few pictures or a nice candle by this lamp. I would not place to many items around these lamps! as you dont want to take away from what these lamps can offer. Since these lamps are custom made, it gives you the choice of many wildlife scenes! I dont know of two many stores out in the market today that will offer this. Most of these stores order them as is and with limited choices (kind of what you see is what you get) however we try to offer as much as possible to you. We give you the color choices, shade or no shade, wildlife cutout, size, etc.



Our simple nightlights will also bring a soft rustic glow. These lights are perfect for any locations of the house. I find most of my customers use them in bathrooms, kitchens, entryways, or the hallway. Really you cant missplace this item. My use of this item would be in the kitchen, right underneith the cabinet overhang or close to any wall switch. Can you picture this item pluged into one of the custom wall plate covers? It really looks great. Again with this item we offer tons of wildlife cutouts! and the two choices of color (black matte or rust). In a dark spot the wildlife cutout really does show through. The great thing about this look as it offers so many things that you can miss match, blend, or just have something stand out! When we say standout we are not talking about a stuffed 8 foot bear in your living room (lol) either. All you need is a few odds and ends a table in this room, a light in that room, some pinecones, blankets, pillows, and well that lodge you stayed in is in your home! or the cabin you own came home with you.
